I've been visiting Stone Town ever since I was a child. Both my parents ancestors first landed in Zanzibar; and although most of them have migrated out of the island, I will always have a special connection with this island. The sights, smells, streets and people of Stone Town remind me of my childhood visits, the many stories I heard from my family about the lavishes and poverty of this town; but also with such a unique history, it's impossible not want to re-visit this special place.
These are a few photos that summarize my recent visit - in smell, sight, culture and feel of Stone Town.
